Reading- We are wrapping up our Trickster Tales Unit. Students presented their Unit Projects today... I'll try to get the pictures/videos up on the blog - they did GREAT!! :)
Writing- Your little writers have been working very hard on their chapter books. Not only have they been revising and adding to their information writing skills, but they are also using fun text features like sidebars, fact boxes, diagrams, picture dictionaries, and more! I can't wait until this publishing party!
Math- We have learned about Customary and Metric Measurements for liquid volume and weight. A hot pink paper was sent home explaining our next big idea... TIME. Although many of our third graders are able to tell time already, we are working on elapsed time and how many minutes until a set time. If you have an event that your child knows the time to, start holding them accountable! :) When you hear the dreaded "How much longer until...?" challenge them to figure it out for themselves. It's still pretty new, but they have the skills.
Social Studies- We are testing tomorrow over How People Come to Our Country. Next we will be discussing how different cultures celebrate the Holidays!
Fiesta Friday- We are starting a Spanish Wall of common sayings tomorrow for Fiesta Friday.
