April... what?!? This year is just flying. Here's a look at what we're diving into this week:
Reading- Although our reading time was taken up on Tuesday and Wednesday for state testing, we're learning more about biographies and voting for our book club books this week :)
Writing- Our writers are moving into the second phase or "bend" of the Fairy Tale Unit. We are starting a *new* adaptation from scratch, learning how to write in a "Writing Colony." This phase focuses on more independent work with "seminars" taught by myself and Miss Zach in small groups as well as working towards deadlines since, afterall, we are professional writers!
Math- We are wrapping up Unit 5 this week, testing on either Thursday or Friday (I'll keep you posted!) Students are also completing NeSA-M on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. We're getting all of our Math testing out of the way for a while. Unit 6 will cover Geometry and Measurement.
Science- Science got the boot Tuesday and Wednesday so that we had some reading time for the day (as testing took up Reading on those days.) However, this week's focus is How Force Affects Motion. We're hoping to implement some fun activities throughout the end of this week and next to have a better understanding of how force, speed, and motion are all related!
